The City of Madera (City) is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from professional consultant firms (Consultant) to prepare the plans, specifications, estimates, and general construction documents for a new park in the City of Madera: Sunset Park. The City desires the design of the park to be based on community input. The selected Consultant, in partnership with the City, will conduct community outreach to gather input on desired park features. Based on that input, the Consultant will be responsible for developing conceptual drawings and plans and providing cost estimates for the project. The City is requesting proposals from licensed professional consultant firms, experienced in architecture and engineering, who demonstrate that they possess the knowledge and organizational, functional, and technical capabilities to understand the needs and provide design and engineering services for the creation of a park in the identified undeveloped property. This scope of work will focus on completing community engagement on the parks functional and aesthetic alternatives before designing the park. The consultant will conduct robust community engagement on potential design amenities, investigate existing conditions, and garner consensus on the project. The consultant will then refine aspects of the project into two feasible conceptual design alternatives, cost estimates for those conceptual designs, garner consensus on preferred alternative, and provide an update to City Council (Council). The selected firm will provide professional engineering services sufficient to allow the City to advertise and award a contract for construction. At the Council's discretion, the City would move forward with the preferred design and allocate the appropriated budget to design full bid-ready construction documents. Other Details The City expects the project to be completed in a timely manner. The City is expecting final design plans to be completed within nine (9) months of the contract award. The Consultant is expected to establish and maintain a close working relationship with City Staff throughout each phase of the project.
