The work in general consists of furnish and installation of a vertical turbine pump on an existing water well casing, site surfacing, yard piping, chemical feed building, chlorination equipment, CMU block wall, electrical work, standby generator and incidental work, complete in place. In accordance with the provisions of Section 3300 of the Public Contract, the general contractor for this project shall have a Class A California State Contractor's License issued in accordance with the provisions of the Contractor's State License Law, California Business and Professions Code, Division 5, Chapter 9, as amended. All contractors and subcontractors that wish to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, or enter into a contract to perform public work must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. No bid will be accepted nor any contract entered into without proof of the contractor's and subcontractors' current registration with the Department of Industrial Relations to perform public work. If awarded a contract, the bidder and its subcontractor(s), of any tier, shall maintain active registration with the Department of Industrial Relations for the duration of the project. Bid security in the amount of ten (10) percent of the amount of the bid, and in the form of a bid bond issued by an admitted surety insurer licensed by the California Department of Insurance, cash, cashier's check or certified check shall accompany the bids. Bid securities shall be made in favor of the City of Madera. The City Council of the City of Madera reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any and all irregularities in any bid.
