Deadline for Questions March 26th, 2025 at 5:00 pm The work to be done consists of full depth recycling with and without cement, cold-in place recycling, asphalt rubber binder chip seals, and/or overlays of existing pavement to rehabilitate roads within Madera County as shown on the Plans and in accordance with the 2023 State Standard Specifications, Revised Standard Specifications dated January 22, 2024, and these Special Provisions. The Madera County Public Works Department will not hold a pre-bid conference for this contract. Bids are required for the entire work described herein on a unit price basis. The contractor must possess either a Class A license or a combination of Class C licenses that constitute a majority of the work at the time this contract is awarded. A contractor or subcontractor will not be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered and qualified to perform work in accordance with Section 1725.5 of the California Labor Code . It is not a violation of this section for an unregistered contractor to submit a bid that is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Professions Code or by Section 10164 or 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code, provided the contractor is registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 at the time the contract is awarded. If you fail to obtain the proper licensing for the contract award you have failed to execute the contract and forfeit your security according to section 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code.
