The City of Victorville is implementing an annual recurring each year to install fire hydrants in areas lacking sufficient coverage. This quote shall cover the installation of Phase 1 (Two hydrants) of the project plans. The City intends to competitively bid for the installation of two additional fire hydrants under Phase 2 of the project plans, once the new fiscal year begins on July 1, 2025. The contractor shall furnish, deliver and install two (2) fire hydrants along La Mesa Road, along with AC pavement, and sidewalk repair and street striping as needed. The City of Victorville is seeking qualified skilled contractors to furnish, deliver, and install two (2) fire hydrants on La Mesa Road in Victorville, CA. The contract shall consist of, but not limited to, labor, materials, tools equipment and supplementary services necessary to complete the work. Any prospective bidder desiring an explanation or interpretation of the solicitation, specifications, scope of work, etc., must request it in writing to the Purchasing Division by no later than MAY 5, 2024 @ 5:00 p.m. PST, in order to allow a reply to reach all prospective bidders before the submission of their bids. Oral explanations or instructions given before the award of a contract will not be binding. For projects over $25,000.00 (including labor and materials), the Contractor, simultaneously with execution of the Contract, shall furnish a surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%), of the contract price as security for the faithful performance of the Contract, and a separate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furnishing materials in connection with the Contract. Bonds must be issued by an admitted surety insurer in the State of California, as set forth in the Public Contract Code, Section 20170. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bidding. The City further reserves the right to award the Contract to other than the lowest bidder if such action is deemed to be in the best interest of City. The award of the contract, if awarded, will be made within sixty (60) calendar days after opening of the Bid Proposals. The Contractor's signature on the Proposal form shall constitute a commitment on the part of the bidder to furnish the equipment as set forth in the Bid Proposal form, Notice Inviting Bids, Instructions to Bidders and the Special Provisions.
