Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in River Edge, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
As of 5/14/25, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award is up to 60 days to award . The proposed project entails the comprehensive rehabilitation and beautification of the Borough Hall entrance and the upgrade of the Borough Hall and Police Department Parking Lot. BASE BID: The work includes milling and repaving 1,550 square yards of asphalt, installing 600 square yards of concrete sidewalks, 7 square yards of ADA ramps, and 980 linear feet of concrete curbing. Additionally, 164 square yards of brick pavers and 217 linear feet of Belgian block will be installed to enhance the area. Structural improvements include 662 square feet of brick veneer retaining walls, 4 CMU pillars, 209 linear feet of handrails, 240 linear feet of chain link fence, and two bollards. Traffic related work includes 650 linear feet of striping, 15 square feet of signage, and 2 decorative lights, 12 LED bollards, and 4 spotlights for better visibility. Landscaping will include planting 5 Honey Locust trees, 4 Chinese Dogwood trees, and over 200 shrubs and ornamental plants, along with topsoil spreading, seeding, and mulching. ALTERNATIVE BID: The alternate bid adds two 30-foot flagpoles, four benches, a stone monument, and the removal of 6 trees. Additionally, 216 square yards of permeable pavers will be installed for improved drainage, and 5 square yards of additional concrete sidewalk will be placed. These upgrades will create a safer, more accessible, and visually appealing public space, while enhancing the functionality of the parking lot for both municipal and police use. Time of Completion for this project is 90 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages for this project is at $1000 per calendar day. Maintenance Guarantee for the project is 100% of Project cost for 2 years from the acceptance of work. Bids must be prepared on the forms furnished with the specifications and must be enclosed in a sealed envelope. Bids must be plainly marked to indicate the name and address of the bidder and bear the word "Bid" upon the outside of the envelope. Bids may either be mailed or delivered in person. Mailed bids will be held and opened at the appropriate date and time. Bids received after the time for opening bids will be returned unopened. All bids must be accompanied by electronic version in CD/DVD/ Flash Drive Form. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all Bids for any and all causes as may be permissible in the Local Public Contracts Law. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.37 and 34:11-56.38 of the "Prevailing Wage Act," no public works contract may be awarded to any contractor and subcontractors or to any firm, corporation or partnership in which they have an interest while on the Debarred Contractors List until the expiration date given. The proposal is being solicited through a fair and open process in accordance with the N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.4 et seq. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq, and N.J.A.C. 17:27, which deal with Affirmative Action in relation to discrimination in connection with certain public contracts. All construction contracts equal to or greater than $1,000,000 must comply with N.J.A.C. 17:27-7.4. All bids must comply with the local Public Contract Laws, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
