Renovation of an educational facility in Effingham, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Lake Land College District Number 517 Board of Trustees will receive sealed bids for the Effingham Technology Center- Structured Cabling Installation. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to waive irregularities and reject all bids or partsaf bics. This project entails the installation of a high-performance structured cabling system within the Effingham Technology Center to support enhanced data connectivity and wireless coverage. The installation will include additional data drops in classrooms and offices, as well as Cat6a cabling for Wireless Access Points (WAPs) throughout the facility. All cabling will be terminated within three (3) existing data closets and certified for performance. The work includes, but is not limited to: 1. Structured Cabling Installation a. Install new Cat6a UTP cabling infrastructure to support data and voice requirements. b. Provide additional data drops in: i. Classrooms (for instructional technology, instructor stations, etc.) ii. Faculty and administrative offices (for workstation and VoIP support) c. All cable runs to comply with ANSI/TIA-568 and industry best practices. d. Cables to be routed through ceiling spaces or conduits as required. e. All terminations will be clearly labeled at both the patch panel and outlet ends. 2. Wireless Access Points (WAPs) a. Install Cat6a cabling from data closets to designated WAP locations throughout the building. b. Coordinate with IT and wireless engineering teams for optimal WAP layout and coverage zones. c. WAP locations will be clearly labeled and documented on as-builtcdrawings. 3. Termination and Certification a. Terminate all cable runs in Cat6a-rated patch panels within three (3) data closets (MDF/IDFs). b. Outlet terminations will use Cat6a keystone jacks and faceplates c. All cabling to be tested and certified using a Fluke or equivalent cable tester. d. Provide test result documentation for each cable drop. 4. Data Closets (MDF/IDFs) a. Utilize three data closets to segment and manage cable distribution. b. Route and bundle cables neatly using Velcro ties and cable tray or ladder racks as needed. 5. Deliverables a. Fully installed and certified Cat6a structured cabling system. b. Wireless cabling infrastructure to support full building coverage. c. As-built documentation including: i. Floor plans with drop and WAP locations ii. Labeling scheme iii. Cable test results d. Warranty and support documentation for installed cabling. C. Furnish labor and materials, tools, supervision, and services required to provide a complete operable and acceptable installation. D. All items required to complete the project shall be provided by the Contractor unless noted otherwise. E. If a Bidder is unable to comply with any of the following specifications, the Bidder shall submit in writing the reason for noncompliance. Noncompliance with any specification is grounds for rejection of the entire bid. The buyer reserves the right to reject any bid which does not meet these specifications
