As of July 7, 2025 this project was awarded to CRL GROUP HOLDINGS INCORPORATED in the amount of 514,945.50 The Province is seeking a Prime Contractor to deactivate rail trail major culvert KV-034, upslope of Naramata BC on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail. KV-034 is a dual stacked rock culvert comprised of quarry cut rock buried under approximately 10 vertical meters of fill at the centerline of the trail. The fill is assumed to consist of large angular blast rock from the original construction of the railway some 110 years ago. Works to install a permanent crossing at KV-034 have been removed from the scope of this contract and design drawings. Scope of risk mitigation works will entail: The excavation and end haul of an estimated 8,620m3 of overlying fill. Development of specified riprap from the overlying fill material. Deactivation, daylighting and reconstruction of approximately 45m of fish friendly stream channel. Upgrade, construction and installation of a detour and temporary crossing upstream of the KV-034 fill. Works Excluded All excavations associated with the permanent crossing at KV-034. Installation of permanent crossing at KV-034. All environmental requirements associated with installation of the permanent crossing at KV-034. Surfacing of final grade to KV-034 permanent crossing location. Construction of basking and security habitat for snakes noted in the CEMP and Habitat Assessment Memo.
