Naramata Lake Dam Phase 1 Boil Remediation Project The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is undertaking Phase 1 rehabilitation works at Naramata Lake Dam (D22006-00), a Very High Consequence classified dam located northeast of Naramata, British Columbia. The project addresses a persistent seepage boil at the downstream left abutment of the dam that was identified as a high-priority dam safety deficiency during the 2020 Dam Safety Review. The purpose of the project is to mitigate the risk of internal erosion, uplift, and seepage instability within the dam foundation by implementing a targeted remedial design developed by Interior Dams Inc. The proposed rehabilitation includes excavation of the affected boil area, installation of a properly graded filter and drainage system, reconstruction of downstream toe drainage infrastructure, construction of a filter berm to improve confinement and seepage control, temporary dewatering and water management measures, environmental protection works, and site restoration. The work is intended to improve seepage management, reduce hydraulic gradients in the affected area, provide controlled drainage and monitoring capabilities, and enhance the long-term safety and performance of the dam. Construction will be completed in accordance with applicable BC Dam Safety requirements, environmental regulations, and approved design documents. This RFP seeks qualified contractors to provide all labour, equipment, materials, supervision, and services necessary to complete the boil remediation works, environmental protection measures, testing, quality control, and site restoration associated with the Naramata Lake Dam Phase 1 Rehabilitation Project. The work is anticipated to occur during the 2026 construction season as the reservoir drawdown has already been completed and regulatory approvals are in place.
