Site work for a mixed-use development in Compton, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and swimming pool.

The City of Compton is soliciting proposals from qualified Design-Build Contractors (DBC) to provide design-build services for completing proposed improvements for Gonzales Park and Lueders Park pools within the City. The project aims to upgrade public pool facilities, to improve recreation services while enhancing quality of life for residents and visitors of the City of Compton. The City intends to either select one contactor to perform design-build services on both swimming pools or two different DBCs to individually perform the requested services on each pool depending on the results of the selection process and final negotiation. This Project involves in the upgrading of two City's public pools: The Gonzales Aquatic Center and the Lueders Park Pool. The purpose of this Project is to modernize the public facilities, improve energy efficiency, and comply with updated regulations while enhancing functionality, safety, accessibility, and aesthetic appeal of the facilities. The Gonzales Park Aquatic Center was built in 2002 with a capacity of approximately 286,000 gallons. The Lueders Park Pool was built in 1972 with a capacity of 222,000 gallons. Both pools are in City Council's priority for public facilities improvements and in need of immediate upgrades in order to meet high demand for recreational aquatic activities from the residents and visitors. The DBC shall pay to the City as liquidated damages the amount of $500.00 per day, for each and every calendar day's delay in finishing the work in excess of the number of working days specified. This work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of 130 WORKING DAYS. The City of Compton reserves the right to: reject any and all proposals, in whole or in part, submitted in response to this RFP All inquiries and questions of this RFP must be submitted in writing by e-mail to bspragg@comptoncity.org. All inquiries and questions shall be submitted before 5 p.m., Monday, May 12th , 2025. Inquiries and questions submitted after this time and date will not be considered. The successful proposer shall furnish a Payment bond and a Performance bond. Each bond is to be executed in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Proposals must be accompanied by a proposal guarantee consisting of a certified check or bid bond payable to the City in the minimum amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount bid.
