The bid is for a New Shingle Roofing, shall include all material equipment and labor necessary to install new shingled roofing in the Township of Washington Public Library at 144 Woodfield Rd, Township of Washington, Bergen County, N.J. 07676 where the shingle roof exists. The Contractor must obtain all building and construction permits prior to the start of construction. All work shall be completed in accordance with the currently adopted International Building Code, New Jersey Edition. Prevailing wage required. It is the intent of the Township to remove and replace only the shingle roof on the Library Building. The estimated area of the roof is approximately 7,700 square feet. It is the responsibility of the contractor to measure the roof prior to submitting the bid. (The area provided is only for informational purposes to provide an estimated range and scale of the project). The work shall include the following: 1. Remove all existing asphalt shingles, (2) layers flashings, and underlayment from the shingled roof area. 2. Inspect, remove and replace deteriorated plywood sheathing within the field of the roof at the up to 34 sq. ft. Plywood shall be replaced in kind. All replaced plywood shall match existing thicknesses. 3. Loosen all gutters and install GAF Weather Watch membrane (GAF products or a certified approved equal) to the first course of roof and apply 2" onto fasciae. 4. Install new GAF Weather Watch ice shield (manufactured by GAF products or a certified approved equal) in all valleys, on roof. 5. Install GAF or a certified approved equal, Shingle Mate base to balance of roof with 1/2 " staples. 6. Install apply 7,700 square feet of GAF or certified approved equal, Timberline shingles with 6 nails per shingle. 7. Install new Oatey aluminum plumbing penetration flashings to vent pipes. 8. Install new GAF Timbertex HD or certified approved equal, Hip/Ridge shingles to all hip areas. 9. Clean, fasten and resecure gutters to the original locations. 10. Properly and legally dispose and cart all removed materials and debris. 11. Clean entire worksite each day and maintain worksite in a neat, safe, and orderly manner. ROOF REPLACEMENT ALTERNATE BID ITEMS: 1. Remove and replace deteriorated plywood sheathing within the field of the roof over 34 sq. ft. Plywood shall be replaced in kind.
