Additionally, as part of the latest Infrastructure Improvements Planning, the Corrales interceptor (aka Westside interceptor) and Riverside drain interceptor (aka Corrales Trunk) were highlighted as critical capacity-restricted sanitary sewer collection infrastructure serving the Westside service area. In addition to the existing and projected collection system flows associated with the system, the industrial user (Intel) has indicated plans to discharge up to 7.25 million gallons per day (mgd) at buildout into the Corrales Interceptor, which then flows to the Westside Interceptor. This flow from Intel will further stress the existing collection system and infrastructure. The purpose of this Project is to construct Phase 1 of the overall project, which provides a new treatment and reclamation facility to provide capacity relief for the collection system due to anticipated future limitations, outfall and vegetated conveyance to the Rio Grande, and to provide provisions for future non-potable reuse distribution for the Water Authority's customers in the Westside service area for turf irrigation and limited other uses, including industrial.
