Site work for a museum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Completed plans call for site work for a museum.

As of April 5 2021 project was not yet been awarded. No estimated time frame yet. The new Asia Exhibit is going to be an exciting addition to the ABQ BioPark, featuring five different animal species, and offering enhanced views into the existing Elephant Exhibit. This continent-wide species collection showcases: Orangutans, Siamangs, Malayan Tigers, Snow Leopards, and Steller's Sea Eagles. The 4.5 acre +/- project site is divided into four distinct landscape and theming zones: Village, Rainforest, Mountain, and Coastal. The Village acts as the gateway to the exhibit and will include auxiliary visitor comfort facilities. Structures within this zone will be themed resembling a rural southeast Asian village. The Rainforest will feature highly unique interconnected habitats. These netted exhibits will allow the animals to use the outdoor yards and habitat corridors in engaging and enriching fashion. The Rainforest will be heavily planted to emulate the southeast Asian jungle. The Mountain and Coastal zones will be considerably more rocky and will require detailed craftsmanship from an experienced exhibit contractor. Tiger and Steller's Sea Eagle exhibits will incorporate larger bodies of water, both requiring Life Support Systems, while numerous smaller yards are slated to have fill and dump pools. Given the flatness of the existing site, there will be considerable berming around the perimeter of the exhibit to create a self-contained world-class exhibit. An external gravel ring road is incorporated to allow for easy service and maintenance access to all major buildings and exhibit yards. Internal visitor pathways are sized for both the comfort of the guests and the additional service vehicle access to the exhibits. There will be several small to mid-size climate-controlled buildings on the project, including: Restrooms (1,250 SF), Primate Holding (3,400 SF), Feline Holding (3,700 SF), Steller's Sea Eagle Holding (800 SF), and Elephant Viewing Service Building (450 SF). The two Life Support Systems buildings (combined 1,200 SF), Elephant Viewing Pavilion (1,700 SF), and several storage and educational structures (combined 1,500 SF) are not going to be air conditioned. Numbers in parenthesis indicate the approximate areas of those structures. In addition to the expected animal caging systems, some of the unique features incorporated in the holding buildings include heated floor slabs, bio flooring, exhibit glazing, and climbing and enrichment structures. This project will consist of two phases, as described on G-004 of the Contract Documents.
