A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The scope of work includes the removal of existing electrical equipment, preparation of the site and building for new ComEd supplied and installed equipment and contractor supplied equipment. Submit questions to A/E by June 3rd A/E must issue at least 5 days before bid, CDB to post at least 3 days before bid Check with A/E for addenda Electrical: MBE 20%, WBE 5%. VBE/PBE 2% No Goals for Any Other Trades DESCRIPTION: 1. Provide 250' of (4) - 5" conduits from the existing manhole located in the landscaped area to the new utility-owned ATO switch. 2. Provide ATO pad 6'2" x 6'4". Locate on the grass north of the generator. 3. Coordinate with ComED to provide a new utility-owned ATO switch. 4. Provide 25' of (2) - 4" conduits from the new utility-owned ATO switch to the utilityowned transformer. 5. Coordinate with ComED to provide a new utility-owned transformer. 6. Provide Transformer pad 8'6" x 8'6". Located on the grass between ATO and the generator. 7. Provide 70' of (9) - 4" conduits concrete encased from the transformer to the new main switchboard located in the existing vault room. 8. Provide a temporary generator to power the facility while the existing vault is demoed and the new 3000A main switchgear is installed and connected to a new transformer. Coordinate minimal downtime between the final connections of the new main switchboard and the existing switchboard. 9. Remove asphalt pavement and base material at the location of new ductbank installation. Provide 8" of CA-6 aggregate base and 5" of asphalt pavement (2" of surface course on top of 3" base course). Assumed top two (2) inches of the asphalt pavement (for the remaining drive width) will be milled and resurfaced. 10. Remove existing electrical manhole near the existing building and the switchgear room. 11. Provide new sodding at the location of new ductbank installation and at the regraded area around the pads. 12. Provide new retaining wall at area on new ComEd equipment. 13. Provide new concrete stairs and landing to existing vault/electrical room at Building H. New guardrails to be installed. 14. Provide new double door and frame and hardware and existing vault/electrical room. 15. Project will need to submit to IDPH for Construction review and approval for occupancy. B. EXISTING CONDITIONS: 1. Currently two ComED services are serving Chicago Read from a utility pole located on W. Forest Preserve Dr. 2. The two 15kv ComED services are routed to the customer-owned vault via a couple of utility-owned manholes. 3. The vault located in building H contains a customer-owned Automatic Throw-Over (ATO) switchgear and a customer-owned 2000kVA transformer. 4. The transformer feeds the 3000A switchboard via the bus duct in the adjacent room. 5. The existing service is a 3-phase 3-wire system. 6. The customer cannot maintain the existing high-voltage equipment internally. The equipment has not been serviced or maintained and requires replacement.
