The proposed staging campus shall include all necessary spaces to operate as a fully functional, stand-alone elementary school, including its own areas for parking, student drop-off and pick-up, and bus access. A. Considerations: i. The School District of Lee County currently has multiple elementary schools scheduled to be built in the Eastern portion of Lee County (in and around the Lehigh Acres area). These include: a. "L" Elementary School - Located at 17250 State Road 82, Fort Myers. b. "M" Elementary School - Located on a multi-parcel site near 100 Grant Boulevard, Lehigh Acres. c. "N" Elementary School - To be located on a parcel currently under negotiation in Lehigh Acres. ii. Recent changes in the environmental permitting process have delayed the opening dates of two of these schools: a. "L" Elementary was originally proposed for a fall 2027 opening, now it is targeting fall of 2028. b. "M" Elementary was originally proposed for a fall 2028 opening, now it is targeting fall of 2029. B. Proposed/Tentative Timeline: i. 2025 - Procurement process, design work, contractor bidding and development of GMP, start of construction ii. 2026 - Completion of construction, campus utilization a. Campus will be occupied in the fall by "L" Elementary students for the 26/27 school year iii. 2027 - Continued utilization by "L" Elementary students during the 27/28 school year iv. 2028 - Continued utilization, school swap 1 a. "L" Elementary students will move out at the completion of the 27/28 school year in June b. "M" Elementary students will move in during the summer to start the 28/29 school year c. "L" Elementary students will occupy their newly completed school building for the 28/29 school year v. 2029 - Continued utilization, school swap 2 a. "M" Elementary students will move out at the completion of the 28/29 school year in June b. "N" Elementary students will move in during the summer to start the 29/30 school year c. "M" Elementary students will occupy their newly completed school building for the 29/30 school year vi. 2030 - Final proposed utilization year (as of 2025 projections) a. "N" Elementary students will move out at the completion of the 29/30 school year b. "N" Elementary students will occupy their newly completed school building for the 30/31 school year c. District staff will determine if the continued use of the elementary staging campus is needed based on future capital plan recommendations and student enrollment projections received up to 2030.
