Perform earthwork and related operations based on the type of work specified in the Contract and the Earthwork Categories as defined below. Meet the applicable requirements for materials, equipment and construction as specified. Earthwork and related operations consist of excavation for the construction of the roadway, excavation for structures and pipe, constructing backfill around structures and pipe, and constructing embankments as required for the roadway, ditches, and channel changes. 334-1.1 General: Construct an Asphalt Concrete pavement based on the type of work specified in the Contract and the Asphalt Work Categories as defined below. Meet the applicable requirements for plants, equipment, and construction requirements as defined below. Use an asphalt concrete mix that meets the requirements of this specification. 334-1.2 Asphalt Work Mix Categories: Construction of Asphalt Concrete Pavement will fall into one of the following work categories: 334-1.2.1 Asphalt Work Category 1: Includes the construction of bike paths and miscellaneous asphalt. 334-1.2.2 Asphalt Work Category 2: Includes the construction of new turn lanes, paved shoulders and other non-mainline pavement locations. 334-1.2.3 Asphalt Work Category 3: Includes the construction of new mainline pavement lanes, milling and resurfacing. 334-1.3 Mix Types: Use the appropriate mix type as shown in Table 334-1. Plant trees and shrubs of the species, size, and quality indicated in the plans. The Engineer reserves the right to adjust the number and location of any of the designated types and species to be used at any of the locations shown, in order to provide for any unanticipated effects which might become apparent after the substantial completion of other phases of the project, or for other causes. 1.1. Lee County Board of County Commissioners seeks to contract with a qualified Contractor to provide construction of a 5-foot-wide concrete sidewalk adjacent to Lehigh Acres Elementary School along Schoolside Drive from East 3 rd Street to Richmond Ave N and Schoolside Ct from Schoolside Drive to East 3 rd Street. Work shall include, but not be limited to, a new 5-foot-wide sidewalk,sections of currentsidewalk replacement, handrail installation, minor drainage improvements, sign relocation, detectable warning surfaces, and signing and pavement markings. 1.2. All work performed shall follow all Federal, State, Local, OSHA and department mandated regulations and specifications for associated work. 1.3. Contractor(s) shall review all drawings detailing work to be performed under this solicitation. 1.4. The scope of work is further defined and detailed within Exhibits E-O found attached to the draft contract agreement affixed to this solicitation package as well as within the plans associated with this project. Contractor is responsible for reviewing all documentation associated with this project. A. The Contractor agrees to furnish and pay for all management, supervision, financing, labor, materials, tools, transportation, fuel, supplies, utilities, equipment and services of every kind and type necessary to diligently, timely, and fully perform and complete in a good and workmanlike manner the Work required by this Agreement. B. The Work shall be prosecuted and administered in accordance with the Standard Specifications attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit E.
