Renovation of a water / sewer project in Stratford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Services shall be provided by the Contractor to demolish, remove and dispose of existing boiler. Perform installation of new boiler, including all related equipment, components, devices and commissioning as necessary. Performance of new equipment shall be equal to the original system or better. Installation of all equipment shall be in accordance with manufacturers' instructions. BMS controls will be performed by Owner. Isolate boiler and disconnect all controls, piping and supply lines, electrical and flue material. Remove and properly dispose of one (1) existing Bryan natural gas-fired boiler, including all demolition material. Supply and install one (1) new Weil-McLain 880 cast iron sectional boiler and Power Flame gas burner, including all related accessories required for complete operation of the equipment. Town will consider equal manufacturers for boiler and burner. Submit all details in proposal for review and approval by Town. Reconnect controls and tie-in to BMS, including electrical, gas supply and flue material. Replace all insulation removed as part of demolition work. Provide crane/hoisting/rigging service as necessary for removal of existing and installation of new equipment. Perform start-up, testing and commissioning for complete operation of new equipment. Controls disconnect/reconnect to be performed by Contractor. Note any technical proprietary work required to be performed for BMS will be scheduled by Town. Contractor must field verify all measurements due to restrictive access to boiler room via hatch located in the building garage. This includes all doors, stairs and railings located at egresses. Refer to appended pictures for detail. The BID BOND furnished, as bid security, must be duly executed by the bidder as principal. It must be in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total estimated bid, as guarantee that, in case the contract is awarded to the bidder, the bidder will, within ten days thereafter, execute such contract and furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond. The successful bidder, within seven (7) business days after notification of award, will be required to furnish Performance and Labor and Material Bond provided by a company authorized to issue such bonds in the State of Connecticut, or Certified Check or properly executed Irrevocable Letter of Credit equal to a hundred per cent (100%) of the award.
