The project includes providing all construction supervision, labor, materials, tools, test equipment necessary for the [East Hickman Pump Station Expansion and Rehabilitation Design - Phase 2.The project includes the removal and replacement of submersible sanitary pumps, removal of mechanical bar screens and replacement with channel grinders, installation of an overhead crane hoist, wet well connector pipe, and update controls and operations sequences as shown on the Contract Documents.]. All Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid executed by a Surety Company authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and countersigned by a licensed Kentucky Resident Agent, representing the Surety Company. Certified Check or Bid Bond shall be payable to Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. Bid Bonds are not required for bids under $50,000. A cashier's check or irrevocable letter of credit is an acceptable form of bid security. The OWNER has set a goal that not less than seventeen percent (17%) of the total value of this Contract be subcontracted to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, with minimum subgoals of five percent (5%) for MBEs and a subgoal of twelve percent (12%) for WBEs, and set a goal that not less than three percent (3%) of the total value of this Contract be subcontracted to Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and/or Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses. Bids will be received from Prime Contracting firms on a lump sum basis. Bids shall be submitted in the manner and subject to the conditions as set forth and described in the Information Available to Bidders and Bid Form. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the closing date for receipt of Bids. Errors and omissions will not be cause for withdrawal of Bid without forfeit of Bid Bond. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive all informalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the OWNER may be served.
