A bid bond in the amount of five (5%) of the bid price (or a bank check for that same amount) shall be required of all bidders. Bidders are advised that this is a public works project, subject to the prevailing wage laws of the state. All bidders must complete a mandatory site visit prior to submission of a bid. Bidders may contact the Fire District at (607)-972-8296 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on regular business days to make arrangements to visit the site. The contract for the above item will be awarded by the Board of Fire Commissioners to the lowest responsible bidder. In cases where two or more responsible bidders submit identical bids as to price, the Board of Fire Commissioners may award the contract to either of such bidders. The Board of Fire Commissioners reserves the right to reject all bids and/or re-advertise for new bids in its discretion and/or to waive any informality in any bid which it deems immaterial in nature. No bids may be withdrawn by any bidder for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of bid opening. Scope of Work 2.1 Assessment and Preparation - Conduct a thorough inspection of the current condition of the truck bay floor. - Remove debris, dirt, and any existing coatings to allow proper adhesion. - Identify and address cracks, potholes, or surface damage using appropriate patching materials. - Present proper business license and insurance. 2.2 Repair Work - Fill all cracks and holes and surface around floor drains with industrial-grade epoxy or cement-based repair materials. - Level uneven surfaces for a smooth finish. - Treat chemically compromised or corroded areas to ensure integrity and longevity. - Repair, replace steel in floor near the apron at both ends of the floor. - Repair aprons on both sides of apparatus bay. 2.3 Resurfacing - Apply a high-performance epoxy or polyurethane coating suitable for heavy-duty use. - Include anti-slip additives for improved safety. - Ensure the coating is resistant to chemicals, oils, abrasion, and impact. - Add apparatus placement strips. 2.4 Final Inspection and Cleanup - Perform a detailed quality control check to ensure the floor meets safety and durability standards. - Remove all tools, materials, and waste, leaving the area clean and operational.
