This contract consists of installing approximately 450 L.F. of 24" HDPE Storm Sewer, 35 L.F. of 18" HDPE Storm Sewer, 16 L.F. of 12" HDPE Storm Sewer, and all other necessary appurtenances including 8 associated drop boxes and 1 headwall. Also, if funds allow, included in the project is the removal and replacement of roughly 340 square yards of concrete sidewalk and the construction of 77 L.F. of concrete paved ditch. No Bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of 90 days. The Bidder awarded the contract shall execute a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond and shall furnish insurance as required, in the General Conditions. The base contract shall be completed within 40 calendar days after date of authorization to start work. Liquidated damages will be $1,000 per calendar day. Bidders must comply with the President's Executive Order Nos. 11246 and 11375, which prohibit discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with Section 3, Section 109, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Anti-Kickback Act and the contract Work Hours Standard Act. Bidders must certify that they do not, and will not, maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on a basis of race, color, creed, or national origin. All contractors and DBE subcontractors must be pre-qualified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and possess a Certificate of Eligibility at the time of the bid opening. All other subcontractors must be prequalified when accepting subcontracts. Due to the Federal Funding Source, this project is subject to the Federal Davis-Bacon Act wage rate requirements and Buy America restrictions. The bidder shall certify that it has secured participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises ("DBE") in the amount of 3% percent of the total value of this contract and that the DBE participation is in compliance with the requirements of 49 CFR 26 and the policies of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet pertaining to the DBE Program. Any bid that is obviously unbalanced may be rejected. The City of Bradfordsville reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive informalities. Bidders must have experience with similar types of projects in congested areas where multiple utilities are located.
