In 2023, the Airport Board formed an Ad Hoc Airport Planning Committee to address the County-owned T-hangars--four structures of varying age on the airfield's southwest corner. The committee recommended maintaining and leasing the existing hangars while planning replacements within 5-7 years. Fully occupied with a waitlist of nine aircraft owners, these hangars provide essential storage, increase based aircraft, and enhance federal funding, operations, and fuel sales. Planned upgrades include structural evaluations, roof replacements, electrical improvements, LED lighting, door seals, and painting. This initiative is entirely locally funded. This aligns with the County's strategic plan by maintaining infrastructure, highlighting our vision for accountability and fiscal responsibility. The project is included in the city 2027 - 2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
