Site work and paving for a road / highway in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The work generally consists of asphalt overlaying +-6.5 miles of 2-lane rural county road (+-24 feet wide) with cold plane pavement removal, transition grinding, and approach transition paving. The engineer's estimate for this project is $2,300,000-$2,550,000. A surety bond issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Oregon, irrevocable letter of credit issued by an insured institution as defined in ORS 706.008, cashier's check or certified check made payable to the Klamath County Commissioners in the amount of 10% of the total bid must accompany the sealed bid. At least ten (10) days prior to bid opening, all bidders must submit to Klamath County a Contractor's Prequalification Application, even if the contractor is already prequalified with the State of Oregon. The classes of work for this project are: Asphalt Concrete Paving and Oiling (ACP) . (Most recent edition of Contractor's Prequalification Application form must be used). General Contractor is not required to be prequalified for Temporary Traffic Control if the subcontractor performing that portion of the Work is prequalified as such with Klamath County Public Works. All contractors and subcontractors performing work on this project must be licensed with the Construction Contractors Board in accordance with ORS Chapter 701. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of the bid will be required of the successful bidder. Klamath County will reject any bid not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements, and may for good cause, reject any or all bids upon a finding of Klamath County it is in the public interest to do so. Klamath County reserves the right to waive informalities. All bids are subject to Oregon Law bid procedures. Upon notice of "intent to award", a (7) seven-day protest period is available for bidders to submit a written protest of such intent to award by Klamath County. The bidder must indicate on his bid whether bidder is a resident bidder as defined in ORS 279A.120. Bidder must comply with Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance requirements. This is a public works project, subject to BOLI wages and ORS 279C.800 to 279C.870. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Cold-Plane Asphalt Removal and Asphalt Concrete Paving. Work shall include, but not necessarily be limited to: Asphalt transition grinding, +-6.5 miles of asphalt overlay including approach transitions and aggregate shoulder and approach work. All questions regarding the Plans and Specifications must be submitted to Ryan Hamilton, P.L.S. in written form via email at rhamilton@klamathcountyor.gov, on or before 12:00 P.M. 5/23/2025 by registered plan holders only. If in the judgement of the Engineer, additional information or interpretation is necessary such information will be supplied in the form of an Addendum only plan holders who are listed on the County's plan holders list will be notified by email of the Addendum.
