Tender for Contractor Required for Removal and Replacement of Playground and Safety Surfacing at Thorner Park. A summary of the Work to be undertaken by the Successful Bidder under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Mobilization, and site fencing. Additional fencing and other safety measures may be required to ensure public safety throughout construction. 2. Removal and disposal off-site of existing play structures, swings, footings, concrete curbs, and asphalt paving completely. 3. Excavation and removal from site of existing safety surfacing wood fibre and existing material within playground area and swings, including all drainage layer and subsoil as noted on Contract drawings. 4. Supply and install clear stone drainage layer, and drainage tile with play areas. 5. Supply and install clear stone soak-away pit(s) for play areas as detailed. 6. Supply and installation of proposed play equipment to fit within play areas as specified, or approved equivalent. 7. Supply and installation of asphalt pathway on granular base. 8. Supply and installation of new topsoil and sod on disturbs areas as required. 9. Supply and installation of poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing, set on granular base, and filter fabric layers, including 3rd party drop testing. Award subject to final approval.
