coordination of timing for the proposed splash pad and equipment that is provided and installed by the splash pad manufacturer. Also includes demolition of existing pavement and vegetation, earthwork, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water service, electrical service, colored PCC pavement, standard PCC pavement, surface restoration and miscellaneous associated work necessary for a complete and operational splash pad. Mechanical building to be provided by Owner. Each bid shall include the bid security as defined in Code of Iowa Section 26.8 and as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. Said bid security shall be based on an amount equal to at least 5% of the bid amount. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its contract price. Said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement in good repair for a period of one (1) year from and after the completion and acceptance by the City After award and approval of contract and performance bond, work on this contract shall substantially completed no later than May 1, 2026. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
