The City of North Canton's Beauty on Main initiative is seeking proposals from qualified artists to design and paint a temporary mural on the exterior glass of North Canton City Hall. Artists and individuals with relevant experience and qualifications are encouraged to submit. Beauty on Main is a grant and donation funded program that seeks to enhance North Canton's downtown by funding small streetscape, greenery, and public art projects. The Beauty on Main initiative strives to showcase community appreciation through thoughtful, small-scale projects that reflect North Canton's unique identity. The purpose of the Request for Proposals (RFP) process is to identify the most qualified artist(s) or individual(s). The City reserves the right to make a selection based solely on the proposals submitted without conducting a formal interview process. The artist or individual ultimately selected by the City will design and paint one temporary mural on the exterior of City Hall, ensuring the completion of the project within the agreed-upon timeline and specifications. The City intends to award a contract for the design and completion of a temporary mural to be painted on the exterior of City Hall. This project aims to celebrate and visually showcase North Canton's history and/or community by highlighting key events, figures, or cultural touchstones that have shaped the City. The successful artist will be awarded a contract to develop a comprehensive mural design, prepare the designated surfaces, and complete the mural painting. The murals should engage residents and visitors while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of City Hall. Artists or individuals submitting proposals should demonstrate experience with public mural projects, a connection to and/or knowledge of North Canton's history, and the ability to collaborate with City officials on a cohesive final design and product if chosen.
