Renovation of an educational facility in North Highlands, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Project includes Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the removal and replacement of the existing roofing system at the Community Outreach Academy Middle School Lower Office Roofs in accordance with the following scope: The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to remove and replace the existing roofing system on the designated lower office roofs. Work includes the installation of temporary fencing for staging and material storage. The existing roof system shall be removed down to the wood deck, with deck repairs performed as needed. A new 60-mil TPA single-ply roofing system with 1/2 " cover board, appropriate flashings, and crickets to divert water shall be installed. All wood blocks shall be replaced with adjustable rubber supports (Durablok or equivalent). TPA-coated edge metal with a 4-inch face and continuous cleats shall be installed, along with 120 linear feet of TPA walkway roll. Galvanized skirt metal shall be installed at HVAC units, and counterflashing provided at roof-to-wall junctions. Proper drainage must be ensured, including drain snaking, cleaning and painting of clamping rings and domes, replacement of broken components, and use of drain plugs during demolition. Any abandoned equipment identified by the District shall be removed. The gutter edge design shall allow for emergency overflow, with the outer edge 1 inch lower than the inner edge. Walkway roll must not be installed over membrane seams. All work shall conform to district standards and roofing best practices. In accordance with Public Contract Code section 20111, each bid shall be accompanied by cash, a cashier's or certified check, or a bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer, made payable to the District, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the bid. The bid security shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder to whom the Contract is awarded will execute the Contract Documents and will provide the required payment and performance bonds and insurance certificates within ten (10) days after the notification of the award of the Contract. A payment bond is required for a public works contract involving an expenditure in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00). Separate payment and performance bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total Contract amount, are required, and shall be provided to the District prior to execution of the Contract and shall be in the form set forth in the Contract Documents. All bonds (Bid, Performance, and Payment) must be issued by a California admitted surety insurer as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure section 995.120. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening for bids, except as provided by Public Contract Code section 5100 et seq The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding. Minority, female, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. Project Value Between $75,000 and $220,000 The engineer’s estimate for this Project is 120,000.00.
