As of July 22, 2025 project is not awarded yet. the City of Watertown is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to perform Replacement and Rebuild of Drainage Structures. The City of Watertown is seeking to award a one-year contract with two (2) additional one-year renewals, solely at the discretion of the City. The City will provide written confirmation of renewal at least sixty (60) days prior to the end of the contract period. Qualified contractors are requested to submit their proposals to the Procurement Department, Watertown City Hall, 149 Main Street, Watertown, MA, in accordance with the instructions contained within the Invitation for Bids (IFB). Prequalification classification of contractors with class of work as Drainage will be required for the project "Replacement and Rebuild of Drainage Structures" with an estimated value of $197,750 for a one-year period and a total estimated contract value of $593,250 including the two one-year extensions options. Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a Bid Bond, Treasurer's Check, Cash, Cashier's Check or Certified Check issued by a responsible bank or trust company in the amount of 5% of the bid price. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. The City of Watertown reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any informality contained therein, and to award the contract as determined to be in the best interest of the City. Questions concerning their IFB must be submitted by email to Purchasing@Watertown-ma.gov. All questions/inquiries must be received by 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, to be considered The Contactor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment required to perform removal and replacement of identified catch basins and manholes with pre-cast structures and the rebuilding of existing catch basins and manholes at various locations, as directed by the Department of Public Works (DPW). The Contractor will furnish all labor, all material, all machinery, tools and equipment necessary for the satisfactory performance of their contract. A. The Contractor shall provide all equipment and all material, incidental material, protective devices and qualified personnel. Warning signs shall be in accordance with the DPW's standards as to size, shape, color and location for the safe and efficient performance of the work and safety of the traveling public. B. Additional drawings showing details in accordance with which the Work is to be done may be furnished by addendum from time to time during the bidding period by the City or its Architect/Engineer and shall then become a part of the Contract Documents. C. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, services, materials, equipment, plant, machinery, apparatus, appliances, tools, supplies, and all other things necessary to do all work required for the completion of each item of the Work and as herein specified D. All personnel working under their contract shall abide by the motor vehicle laws of the Commonwealth insofar as they are applicable thereto. E. Work may be temporarily suspended at the discretion of the DPW representative during peak traffic hours or at any other time when, in the opinion of the DPW representative, traffic is being unduly hampered or delayed by the work under their contract. F. The Contractor shall mark out limits and request dig safe of the project areas as needed in advance of operations. The contractor shall review the project area after the dis safe is complete to review the information marked for potential conflicts with the proposed work contract (DIG Safe 1-888-DIG-Safe or 1-888-344-7233). Work consists of the removal and replacement of identified catch basins and manholes with precast structures and the rebuilding of existing catch basins and manholes at various locations throughout the City at the direction of the Director of Public Works, or their representative. The work to be done shall be in accordance with these Specifications. Incidental work includes provisions for safety controls and signing for construction operations and other incidentals to furnish, install, and repair contract items included herein to the satisfaction of the City. The rim elevations of all utility manholes shall be set to conform to the required grades and the Contractor shall see that all such setting or resetting is substantially and accurately done by him or by companies owning or controlling, and he shall notify the City of any negligence.
