Questions must be sent to the following email: Email: Wendy.Kwong@dot.ca.gov\ an estimated value of greater than $5,000.00, but not more than $461,000.00 Detailed Description of Work: A. Contractor shall provide all labor, tools, materials, supplies, parts, travel, vehicles, equipment, and incidentals necessary to remove, dispose, repair, and replace the existing roofing at the Caltrans Ojai Maintenance Facility that is approximately 3500 square feet. B. Contractor shall remove all tiles off the tile roof and shall use undamaged tiles to reconstruct the roof. Any damaged tiles are to be replaced with as like materials supplied by Contractor. C. Contractor shall furnish and install new underlayment to roof surface and secure. Only materials conforming to the California Building Standards Code 2022 shall be incorporated in the work. D. All waste materials and debris from the old roof and old underlayment shall be legally disposed by Contractor unless otherwise directed by Caltrans Contract Manager. E. Contractor shall sweep the roof, inspect, and replace unforeseen damaged/rotted wood as needed. F. Contractor shall seal any and all pipe flashing or vents. G. Contractor shall limit water drainage into the buildings and onto any items in any shop area. Contractor shall apply temporary protection, such as tarp or plastic covering and anchoring such material with wood lath nails, staples and/or fastening devices to ensure that the structure will be watertight until roof repairs can be made. Plastic sheathing shall not be less than six (6) millimeters thick. Contractor shall provide overnight tarp protection during inclement weather to prevent moisture penetration and secure all tarps at the end of each workday. H. All installations shall be properly installed and/or anchored in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions and the California Building Standards Code 2022 I. New installations shall not interfere with or impede existing structures: i.e. overhead cranes, heaters, lights, etc. J. Contractor shall arrange areas of work with Caltrans Contract Manager as to not disrupt the normal work and function of the maintenance facility. K. Contractor shall only do the specific work that is authorized by Caltrans Contract Manager. L. Contractor may not utilize Caltrans dumpsters, metal bins, or other receptacles to dispose of any materials from the job site. M. Contractor shall haul away and legally discard any materials or debris caused by its work actions from the job site. N. Contractor's price quote shall include the cost to dispose of or recycle the discarded materials and Contractor shall be responsible for such disposal and recycling costs.
