SCOPE OF SEALCOATING, CRACKFILLING, AND RE-STRIPING a. Surface preparation i. The existing pavement surface shall be sound, clean, and free of oil and structural defects prior to any work. ii. All vegetation shall be removed from all surfaces to be sealed. iii. All surfaces to be sealed shall be thoroughly cleaned to remove all foreign debris using a mechanically powered forced air sweeper and steel bristle hand brooms. b. Crack filling i. Crack filling material is to be a single component, hot applied crack and joint sealant. ii. The crack filling material must be compatible with the sealcoat material. iii. The crack filling material is to be approved prior to use. iv. Any existing cracks over width shall be thoroughly cleaned out with air or water pressure and tooling and filled with a flexible crack filler. v. Fatigue cracking or Alligator cracks are not to be filled. vi. Crack filling amounts to be 2000 linear feet per property All questions about the meaning or intent of the contract documents are to be directed to the Board. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Board in response to such questions will be issued by addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by the Building & Grounds Department as having received the bidding documents. Questions received less than ten (10) days prior to the date for closing of bidding may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or classifications will be without legal effect.
