The design of two new signalized crossings of 122nd Avenue, one at NE Davis and another at SE Clinton, is complete. This project will soon be bid, and construction of these two crossings is anticipated to begin in the late fall or winter of 2025. Funding for these crossings is through Fixing Our Streets. The design of three other signals on 122nd Avenue (at/near NE Beech St, NE Russell St, NE Broadway St,) is nearing completion and is beginning the right-of-way acquisition process. Portland City Council voted to accept federal grants distributed by Metro through the Regional Flexible Funding Allocation (RFFA) program which includes $6.4 million for this project. Construction of these three crossings is planned for the summer of 2026. Each crossing will include high visibility continental (zebra) crosswalk markings, streetlighting, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps. Additionally, each crossing will be signalized with a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) and medians, Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons, or half signals. Note: A previously proposed crossing of 122nd Avenue at NE Multnomah Street was cut due to lack of budget, public feedback, and right-of-way complexities. The project is included in the city's 2025-2027 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of August 27, 2025, project is in design. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
