Prequalification packages and project summary information will be made available on or after Wednesday, May 23, 2025, by contacting Williams Blackstock Architects c/o Derek Needham via e-mail at derek@wba-architects.com. Prequalification packages must be submitted no later than 2:00pm local time on Friday, May 2, 2025 via electronic copy emailed to derek@wba-architects.com. Notification of successful prequalified respondents will be issued no later than 12:00pm local time on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at which time final bid documents will be made available. The Project work includes, but is not limited to, selective demolition, renovation and alteration/new construction to the existing 2-story, structural steel and metal-framed building with masonry veneer. Partial roof structure replacement, new section of light-gauge roof structure, and complete replacement of existing flat roof assembly will be included, with site demolition and grading for new site amenities, landscape and all related work as indicated on the Bid and Contract Documents. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the City of Irondale, Alabama, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the total amount bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. The bid Bond shall bear the same date as set for the receipt of Bids. The Bid Bond shall be signed by an agent authorized to do business in the State of Alabama. The contractor whose bid is selected must furnish performance and statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds and insurance in compliance with bid specification requirements at the signing of the Contract. Completion Time: Work shall commence on the earlier of either the date of the City's written "Notice to Proceed" or the contractor's receipt of the fully executed contract and shall be "Substantially Complete" within 486 Consecutive Calendar Days thereafter. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals, to waive any formality in any Bid, and to waive technical errors if, in its judgment, the best interests of the City will thereby be promoted.
