**As of July 7, 2025, the project was awarded to Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete, LLC, with an awarded amount of $212,289.35.** Construction of approximately 728 feet of a road section consisting of 24-foot wide 7" thick PCC pavement with no curb and gutter and with 3-foot wide granular shoulders on both sides of the pavement, installation of 380 linear feet of storm sewer with two (2) area intakes and a flared end section, and final seeding. Liquidated damages in the amount of Nine Hundred Dollars ($900.00) per consecutive working day will be assessed for each day that the work shall remain uncompleted after the end of the contract period with due allowance for extension of contract period due to conditions beyond the control of the Contractor. Site Directions: Generally located on South Spruce Street south of W. South Street in Tipton, Iowa. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, in form acceptable to the City, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the amount of the contract. The bidder's security shall be in the amount fixed in the Instruction to Bidders and shall be in the form of a cashier's check, a certified check, or a bank money order drawn on a FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on a FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a bid bond on the form provided in the contract documents with corporate surety satisfactory to the City. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Successful Bidder will be required to furnish Performance, Payment and Maintenance Bond acceptable to the City of Tipton on the form provided in the specifications in amounts equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The contract shall be fully completed and ready for final payment within 50 working days from written Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed will be issued on or about July 14, 2025. The City of Tipton reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
