Renovation of an educational facility in Duncan, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 16,406-square-foot educational facility.
Roof Recover Construction Project (TPO cover Metal Panal Roofing) . All work is located at the Tyger River Campus of Spartanburg Community College, 1875 E. Main Street, Duncan, SC 29334. Work covered by this contract includes furnishing all labor, materials, tools, devices, appliances, and equipment necessary to perform all the work described in the Contract Documents. *The value for this project is based on a financial range of $160,000-$190,000. Academic Area Roof Areas 5 & 9 (Approximately 16,406 SF): Work generally consists of: - The complete removal and disposal of designated existing metal rake trim and bellows expansion joints, metal eave trim, built in and hanging gutters, downspouts, coping caps and designated components at the transition between RA 5 & RA 6 as shown in the project drawings - preparations include the inspection of existing metal Trapezoidal-Panel roofing, making repairs and replacements to fasteners as necessary, and the installation of new wood blocking at field of roof terminations, eaves, and rakes. - and the new installation of: Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) insulation to fill Trapezoidal-panel roofing flutes, flat polyisocyanurate rigid insulation mechanically attached to existing Z-Purlins through the R-Panel roofing, thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) flexible sheet membrane roofing system mechanically attached to existing Z-Purlins; metal, TPO and PMMA resin flashings; new metal gutters, downspouts, copings andmiscellaneous work as specified herein. Roof Area: Total Area RA 5 = approximately 15,149 SF Total Area RA 9 = approximately 1,257 SF approximately 16,406 SF The existing Roofing assembly consists of: a. Galvalume metal Trapezoidal Panel Roofing b. Panels are 24" wide with 3" rib height. c. Vinyl backed fiberglass batt insulation d. 10" deep "Z" purlins spaced approximately 5' O.C. which span the Steel I-beam bent structure Slope: approximately 1:12 in the structure. Elevations: a. RA 5: approximately 20 feet above grade. b. RA 9 approximately 26 feet above grade. c. Drainage: to eave gutters and downspouts to subgrade stormwater drainage. Roof Shape: Roof Areas are rectilinear in shape. EQUIPMENT: a. (1) Power Vents in RA 5 b.
