The Region of Queens Municipality is accepting proposals from qualified contractors for the repair of approximately 55m of a stone retaining wall (pictured below) at the Old Burial Grounds, 293 Main Street, Liverpool, NS. The wall has begun to fail and is leaning towards the sidewalk, posing a safety risk to pedestrians and the structural integrity of the historic site. The Municipality is seeking a qualified contractor that can dissemble the existing wall and reinstate the existing stone face structurally at a 1:6 batter, meaning for every 600mm in wall height, the wall will slope inward 100mm. Proposal submissions came in over the allocated budget.
