Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, permits, travel and incidentals necessary to remove, legally dispose, and reconstruct interior finishes of office and equipment bay building at the Visalia Maintenance Station in Tulare County. 2. Refer to the Proposed Form of Agreement, Exhibit A, for a more complete description of services. additional site visit note: All prospective contractors are to be assembled at Caltrans Visalia Maintenance Station, 15337 Avenue 296, Visalia, CA 93292, at 11:00 a.m., May 28, 2025. Bidders must sign in (on the sheet provided) upon arrival and sign out upon completion of the walk-through activities. Caltrans will conduct the site inspection of the facilities and disseminate any additional information to participants, if necessary. Detailed Description of Work A. Demolition & Sanitization of Interior Finishes 1) Contractor shall set-up containment in designated rooms. 2) Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of existing drywall, approximately 1,200 square feet (S.F.), from designated rooms. 3) Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of existing insulation, approximately 1,200 S.F., from designated rooms. 4) Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of existing ceiling tiles, approximately 64 S.F., from designated rooms. 5) Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of existing flooring, approximately 125 S.F., from designated rooms. 6) Contractor shall clean and sanitize all affected areas of building interior. B. Reconstruction of Interior Finishes 1) Contractor shall prepare the designated rooms for reconstruction. 2) Contractor shall furnish and install insulation, approximately 1,200 S.F., in designated rooms. 3) Contractor shall furnish and install suspended ceiling tiles, approximately 64 S.F. 4) Contractor shall furnish and install and texture drywall, and tape joints, approximately 1,200 S.F. 5) Contractor shall mask floor and paint all walls, both reconstructed and original, in designated rooms, approximately 6,300 S.F. Color to match existing walls. 6) Contractor shall remove, legally dispose, and replace all Cove base molding in designated rooms, approximately 275 linear feet (L.F.). 7) Contractor shall reinstall flooring, approximately 125 S.F. Flooring to match existing. 8) Contractor shall remove and reinstall any non-IT electrical equipment to original condition. C. General 1) All improvements shall be done in accordance with Caltrans Standard Building Specifications. 2) Contractor shall remove and reinstall any non-IT electrical equipment to perform work. District personnel shall temporarily relocate IT equipment prior to work commencing. 3) Contractor to coordinate with onsite District personnel during staging of work to relocate equipment and furniture. 4) As-Built plans to be provided to Contractor to confirm finishes and colors. See Interior and Exterior Finish Record Drawings, Attachment 4. 8. Requirements A. Contractor shall keep fully informed of all existing State laws, and all applicable County and Municipal ordinances and regulations, which in any manner affect those engaged or employed in the work, or materials used in the work performed. B. Contractor shall be required to perform all work in compliance with all applicable City Building Codes, Housing and Urban Development standards, California Occupational Safety and Health Administration local/state codes. C. While it is not necessary to obtain building permits to perform the work on Caltrans owned properties, the work shall be subject to inspection by Caltrans Contract Manager. D. The workmanship shall be equal to the highest standard of the industry. All painting work shall be warranted for a period of 24 months after work is completed. This warranty excludes wear and tear by tenant or Caltrans, water or insect damage after work completion ("completion" include drying of coating) and other such occurrences not under control of Contractor. E. Contractor shall email an activity log to Caltrans Contract Manager at the end of the work for all the active jobs. See Daily Activity Log, Attachment 5. F. Contractor shall maintain all work sites in a clean and orderly fashion. G. Contractor shall protect existing building structure from dust and damage during all repair activities. H. Work performed and material used must be in compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, and codes, including conformity with rules for control of volatile organic compound emissions adopted by Air Quality Control District. I. Any work or material found to be substandard due to defective materials, inoperable or defective parts, or due to negligence shall require that Contractor be called back to correct the substandard work at Contractor's sole expense. The responsibility for the cost of labor, materials, and time needed to correct the substandard work will be of Contractor at no additional charge to Caltrans. J. Contractor shall inform Caltrans Contract Manager immediately in the case of delays in procurement of parts. This will allow changes to be made to affect the most feasible and suitable repair work to Caltrans-owned properties. K. Contractor shall be responsible for any damage(s) which are caused by Contractor's operations under this Agreement and shall be repaired by Contractor at no cost to Caltrans. Contractor shall perform the services in a manner which ensures warranties are maintained for any products that are damaged. L. Caltrans Contract Manager and Contractor shall work closely together to maintain consistency in administration, control, operation, and maintenance of Caltrans-owned properties. Caltrans Contract Manager will meet with Contractor as needed to ensure work is perform to industry standard. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, permits, travel and incidentals necessary to remove, legally dispose, and reconstruct interior finishes of office and equipment bay building at the Visalia Maintenance Station in Tulare County. . Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Interior Building Reconstruction Services as described herein: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, permits, travel and incidentals necessary to remove, legally dispose, and reconstruct interior finishes of office and equipment bay building at the Visalia Maintenance Station (MS).
