**As of June 20, 2025, the project was awarded to Stilo Excavation Inc., with an awarded amount of $1,416,907.07.** 2025 Road Program The project is known as the 2025 Road Program in the Borough ofSouth Plainfield, Middlesex County, New Jersey. The project involves the milling, resurfacing, curb replacement, driveway apron replacement, sidewalk replacement and drainage improvements for the 2025 Road Program project. The Borough of South Plainfield reserves the right to consider the bids for sixty (60) days after the receipt thereof, and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part and also to waive any informality in any and make such awards or take action as may be in the best interest of Borough of South Plainfield. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidders as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Borough of South Plainfield in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. All curb, concrete header curb and sidewalk replacements shall be identified in the field with the Engineer. Pavement notches are required wherever new paving meets existing pavement that will not be overlaid. Frames and grates shall be Bicycle Safe Grates, Pattern no. 2618, the Type N Eco headpiece, or Bicycle Safe Grates, Pattern No. 3425, with Phase II Storm Water Compliant Grates, as manufactured by Campbell Foundry, or approved equal. The Bicycle Safe ECO Grate is intended to be a direct replacement for the existing grate. However, ifthe new grate is not compatible with the existing frame, the contractor shall replace the existing frame at no additional cost to the owner. Contractor should field verify the compatibility ofthe grates prior to completing their proposal. Contractor shall replace the existing headpieces ofthe catch basins with ECO Curb, Campbell Foundry Pattern No. 2618, 6" or 8" High, Type N, or approved equal. The existing catch basins vary. Contractor should field verify the head height and type prior to completing their proposal. Headpiece or grate shall be provided with the words, "Dump No Waste Drains to Waterways", cast in the top. The cost for the replacement ofthe grates and headpieces shall be included in the line items, "CURB PIECE", or "BICYCLE SAFE GRATE" in the Proposal. The price bid shall include complete installation, including frame, grate, head, any adapters as may be needed for installation and all site restoration as may be required.
