The City of Sevierville, Tennessee (herein called the "Owner") invites proposals from qualified firms (herein called "Design firms") for Old Knoxville Highway Improvements. The following pages summarize the scope of work and requirements for the proposal. Proposal Enclosed: Old Knoxville Highway Improvements ENCLOSE THE ORIGINAL, FIVE (5) COPIES, AND ONE (1) ELECTRONIC COPY The Owner may consider informal any proposal not prepared and submitted in accordance with the provisions hereof, and may waive any informality or reject any and all proposals. The City of Sevierville, Tennessee, hereinafter referred to as "Owner" seeks to retain the services of a professional consultant engineering firm/team, hereinafter referred to as "Design Firm" to provide services related to the planning, permitting, design, utility coordination, right-of-way acquisition, public outreach, bid process administration, and construction support for proposed improvements to be made to Old Knoxville Highway in Sevierville. The project area includes Old Knoxville Highway in Sevierville between Boyd's Creek Rd. (SR 338) and W. Main Street (SR 35/US 411). The project will include geometric improvements to existing alignments, the possibility of realigning portions of the roadway, widening of the roadway, signal replacement/upgrades, and the addition of pedestrian facilities. SCOPE OF SERVICES: This project will be planned and designed as one project but will be bid and constructed as two separate projects. Any necessary right-of-way acquisition shall be made for the entire corridor at once. The portion of Old Knoxville Highway between Gists Creek road and W. Main Street will be upgraded from a 2- lane section to a 3-lane section with a dual left turn lane and pedestrian facilities, and will be the first portion constructed. This section will also include improved geometry and a new traffic signal at the Old Knoxville Highway intersection at W. Main Street. The portion of Old Knoxville Highway between Pheasant Ridge and Boyd's Creek Highway will primarily consist of widening to an improved 2-lane section with shoulders and geometric improvements and a bridge replacement at the Gists Creek crossing.
