Renovation of a library in West, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 800-square-foot library.

Project Description: Foundation-- Remove all flooring, all plywood, and carpet approximately. 800 sq ft. and supply a dumpster to remove all trash. Salvage--2x12 joists and flooring will be used to rebuild the new equipment cabinet. Concrete Work--Backfill with red fill dirt and compact, 4 concrete slab with 6 mil vapor barrier, Smooth finish, 3000 PSI mix. Install 6x6 #10 wire mesh. Stain the concrete and seal. Ceiling--Remove all existing ceiling tile. Install new 2x4 ceiling tile and 6 insulation overhead, repair existing grid, and install necessary hangers. Electric-- Relocate the electric in the existing equipment closet to the new closet. All electric plugs and switches on the walls will remain exposed after masonry work is complete. Replace all existing ceiling lights with new lights. Repair--any switches and electric outlets that need replacing. Wall demolition-- Remove all paneling, sheetrock, and stripping on the existing wall and dispose of all trash. Chip existing plaster off the brick wall down to the brick to expose the brick wall; some areas of plaster will remain. Point up plaster where nail holes were. When all brick walls are exposed, blow walls off, apply clear coat sealerapprox. 1500 sq ft. Paint--Repaint all wood and trim in the area where work is performed, nothing upstairs. Replace-- The threshold and level up the front entrance of the Library once the concrete is laid. Install-- doors between the Library and City Hall, doors will be furnished by the Town. Instructions to Bidders: All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked SEALED BID LIBRARY RENOVATION. Late submissions will not be accepted. The awarding body reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to accept the bid deemed most favorable and in the best interest of the Town of West.
