The State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is creating a Bus Stop Enhancement (BSE) program that will implement a standardized process by which new or existing bus stop assets, i.e. amenities, can be enhanced across various bus stop types and location specific scenarios. This process will be realized by a set of contract mechanisms that will support the following phases of the program: Design, Procurement, Construction and On-going Maintenance of bus stop assets. Successful vendors and consultants (Contractors) that responds to the Bid will become a part of a Vendor-In-Place (VIP) system. Transit Service Provider's (TSPs), Municipalities, or Councils of Governments (COGs) will be provided with the option to select from a set of standard bus stop asset designs that can be used to enhance bus stops that are identified in priority lists collected during the planning phase and then have those enhancements constructed and installed using the contractors in the VIP. Questions pertaining to DOT advertised project bus shelter installation must be submitted through dot.transit@ct.gov. The Department cannot guarantee that all questions will be answered prior to the bid date. PLEASE NOTE - at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 10, 2025 the project(s) being bid will be closed for questions, at which time questions can no longer be submitted.
