All general, prime, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors must be pre-qualified to bid for construction projects valued at more than $1 million dollars. This Pre-Qualification Program will start upon the District advertising for Applications from the general bidding public. Advertising is anticipated to begin May 26, 2025. Applications will be accepted by the District as soon as the Pre-Qualification Program is advertised. Applications for the Annual Prequalification Program will continue to be accepted by the District until the next Prequal Program is approved by the Board of Education in May 2026. The Board-approved questionnaires and financial statements shall be valid in the amounts approved for no more than twelve (12) months from the date of Board approval. A uniform system of rating bidders has been established on the basis of completed questionnaires and financial statements, in order to determine the size of contracts upon which each bidder shall be considered qualified to bid. The District may modify the uniform system from time-to-time at its discretion. By law, bids shall not be accepted from any person or entity required to complete a Prequalification Application, that has not done so at least ten (10) business days prior to the date and time fixed for public opening of sealed bids, or who has not been prequalified for at least five (5) days prior to that date. The District reserves the right to reject any and all prequalification packages and to waive any irregularities in any package or submission. THE PROJECTS Alhambra Unified School District (AUSD) will be bidding projects located at (4) high schools, (13) elementary schools, and various District facilities. Construction projects will include modernization and seismic retrofit of existing buildings; District-wide HVAC upgrades; electrical upgrades; District-wide roof replacement; abatement projects; hardscape upgrades; landscaping & irrigation upgrades; infrastructure upgrades including domestic water re-pipe District-wide; fencing and gate upgrades; door and window upgrades; playfield upgrades; site and building signage upgrades; ADA upgrades; lunch and shade structures; marquees; fire alarm upgrades; and drinking fountain upgrades.
