Develop affordable housing on a City Development Land. The City anticipates that the development of the City Development Land will result in several hundred new rental units. TIMELINE: Request for Expressions of Interest/Statements of Qualifications has closed. Council's approval is being sought to negotiate with a proponent on an agreement or agreements that will lead to the design, construction , operation and maintenance of the proejct. The City wishes to enter into a long-term agreement for the use of City Development Land with a qualified developer (a "Developer"), who will develop, construct, operate and maintain an affordable rental housing project on the City Development Land over the term of the agreement (the "Affordable Housing Project"). The purpose of this RFEOI/SOQ is to invite interested and qualified parties to submit a Submission to this RFEOI/SOQ to indicate their interest in and qualifications to be a Developer. Based on the Responses, the City intends to select a short-list of up to 4 qualified Respondents to be invited to participate in the next stage of the competitive selection process, the Request for Proposals ("RFP") stage, that would lead to the selection of a successful Developer(s) who will enter into the applicable agreement(s) with the City.
