This project is partially funded through a 2024 RIDEM Recreation Development Grant. The Town seeks to engage a qualified landscape architectural firm with experience in designing public recreational facilities, particularly dog parks, and with specific expertise in projects involving former landfill sites and coastal environments. Scalloptown Park is located at Rocky Hollow Road, East Greenwich, RI 02818 (Parcel #065 005 227). The park is situated on a former municipal landfill that operated from 1927 to 1980 and has been redeveloped as a passive recreation area. The site offers views of Greenwich Cove and includes a bike path and parking area. The proposed project involves the design and development of a dedicated dog park facility within Scalloptown Park with associated amenities and site improvements.
