As of August 01, 2025, the project was awarded to E.K. Services, Inc., with an awarded amount of $255,491.75. The King Street & N. Franklin Street (Alternate Bid "A") Storm Sewer Project to include but not be limited to, performing and/or placement and/or installation and/or testing of the following: soil erosion and sedimentation pollution controls; unclassified excavation; installation of storm drainage inlets, junction boxes, storm sewer pipes, restoration paving of disturbed surfaces, etc. The N. Franklin Street Project is a separate bid (Alternate Bid "A") and upon review of the bid proposals Borough Council will decide whether to accept the lowest bid submitted for (Alternate Bid "A"). A certified check or bank, payable to the order of the Borough of Waynesboro, or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the total of the bid shall be submitted with each bid listed as (1) King Street Project and (2) N. Franklin Street Project (Alternate Bid "A"). The time for substantial completion of the work of this contract is ninety (90) consecutive calendar days. Damages for delay of contract completion shall be liquidated at the rate of $1,000.00 for each calendar day that expires after the specified date of completion. The Contract Documents contain requirements addressing prevailing labor wage rates, labor standards, non-discrimination in hiring practices, goals for minority and female participation, MBE, DBE and WBE participation, participation by Section 3 residents and businesses, and related matters. Written inquiries regarding this Invitation for Bids must be made to Kevin Grubbs, Head of Borough Engineering Services before 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 2, 2025. The Borough Council of the Borough of Waynesboro hereby reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids submitted or any part thereof of item herein. The Owner also reserves the right to waive any informalities, defects, errors, omissions, irregularities, or information in bids received. Any Bidder and any member of the public may be present at the Bid opening. Bids may be taken under advisement and the award of contract, if awarded, will be made within sixty (60) days after the date of the opening of the Bids, or otherwise provided by law.
