The project is expected to be awarded on August 20, 2025.** The Board of Supervisors of Salem Township is soliciting bids for the milling and paving of various roads within the Township using approximately 728 tons of Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Binder Course, PG 64S-22, 0 - 0.3 Million Esals, 19.0mmMix compacted to a 2 depth and approximately 1852 tons of Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Binder Course, PG 64S-22, 0 - 0.3 Million Esals, 19.0mmMix compacted to a 3 depth. Bids may be submitted in the alternative based on either (1) the bidder providing and installing the above materials as part of the contract price, and/or (2) the Township purchasing materials separately through a separate municipal procurement contract and the bidder picking up the materials at a production plant, transporting and installing those materials in place. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond equal to 10% of the amount bid. The roadways to be milled, and the precise types and amounts of materials to be used are set forth in the bid documents. Most of the roads are located in the Forbes Road portion of the Township. All bids must be submitted on a Bid Form supplied by the Township. The bid amount must include all labor and equipment necessary to carry out the work set forth in the bid documents. Prevailing wage rates will apply. Liquidated damages at a rate of $870.00 per calendar day will also apply. Material amounts are estimates and may require more or less material to complete each roadway. The successful bidder will be required to sign a contract containing customary municipal terms, conditions, and bonding requirements to carry out the work. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject all or any portions of the bids received and may, at their discretion, eliminate some or all of the roadways from consideration.
