Renovation of an educational facility in Kingston, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 10,335-square-foot educational facility.

The Scope of Work pertains to replacement of approximately 960m2 | 10,335 square feet of roof at Summerhill, the replacement of the building cooling tower, and upgrades to the buildings heat pumps, condenser pumps, circulators and controls. Summerhill is the oldest building at Queen's University and is designated Ontario historical site. The building has heritage designation assigned to it at both the municipal and provincial levels of government. The building is a stone and wood structure of two-stores with lower basement level. The roof generally consists of a galvanized metal roof. The intent of the project is to replace the existing roof on Summerhill, including, but not limited to, metal roofing, insulation, membrane, flashings, counter-flashings, eavestroughs and downspouts. The heating and cooling system in Summerhill includes a closed loop cooling tower / heat pump system. Work will include but is not limited to: o removal and replacement of the metal roof systems; o all requisite M&E services for temporary disconnect, and alterations as needed; o removal and replacement of existing eavestroughs and downspouts; o painting of fascia's and soffit's; o provision of new flashings; o removal and replacement of attic insulation; o provision of new soldered scuppers; o removal and replacement of cooling tower, heat pumps, etc; and o electrical and control modifications; Start Date: Immediately upon contract award. Preferred Completion Date: The project to be completed as quickly as possible with the exterior roofing work being completed no later than November 30, 2025.
