The project is the construction of two new playgrounds using Kompan playground equipment at the new Crocker Elementary School site (200 Bigelow Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420). Playgrounds must be installed in the following timeline inaccordance with availability of the two sites as determined by the owner and the General Contractor (Fontaine Brothers, INC) completing the Crocker Elementary School construction project.: o 3rd-5th playground and PIP rubber: 8/1/25-10/1/25 o 1st-2nd playground and PIP rubber: 10/1/25-4/15/26 A bid deposit of at least five percent (5%) of the total project is required. A Labor and Materials Payment Bond in the sum of 50% of the Contract Price will be required of the successful Bidder. Project is subject to compliance with prevailing wage requirements. This solicitation is being conducted in accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter30 &39M, and any resulting contract will be strictly awarded in accordance with the requirements of the solicitation. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including without limitation, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids. The City reserves the right to waive all informalities not involving price, time, or changes in the scope of work and to negotiate contract terms with the successful bidder. Complete sets of bidding documents shall be used in preparing bids; the City does not assume any responsibility for errors or misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomplete sets of bidding documents or for modifications to the bidding documents including electronic conversion. The installation of the Poured in Place rubber surfacing "DuraPlay" must meet the attached specifications from "DuraPlay" and should be subcontracted out. The full proposed cost is expected to include the cost of the subcontractor for "DuraPlay" and any and all other subcontractors. o Includes all related Site work including but not limited to excavation, backfill and grading. Installation of prepurchased Kompan, INC play equipment per manufacturer specifications. o Installation of at least 124 cubic yards of EWF at 15-20" depth. o Installation of at least 5,107 square feet of Poured in Place surfacing. o Installation of at least 5,107 square feet of 6'' crushed stone subbase. o Installation of aromatic, flush edge/roll from PIP into EWF. o Installation and maintenance of erosion controls.
