Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Eatonton, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The Putnam County Board of Education is soliciting sealed bids from qualified firms for construction of road improvements at the new entrance to the Putnam County Elementary School located on State Route 16. All work shall be performed in accordance with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) specifications and applicable Putnam County standards. However, a Notice of Award and bid tabulations will be posted to the Georgia Procurement Registry (GPR) following evaluation. The selected contractor will receive the site in a cleared and rough-graded condition. Prior to mobilization, the following work will be completed by others: _ Phase 1 erosion control installation _ Site clearing and grubbing with topsoil export _ Demolition _ Mass earthwork to rough grade +/- 0.1 of final grade The scope of this contract includes all remaining work shown in the approved site construction documents, excluding the pre-contracted items listed above. The work includes: _ Mobilization and layout _ Installation and maintenance of Phase 2 and Phase 3 erosion control measures, including NPDES monitoring _ Fine grading and earthwork for the project _ Concrete apron and 4' wide concrete flume under sidewalk _ ADA-compliant handicap ramps with tactile warning tiles _ Installation of curb and gutter and sidewalk _ Placement of thermoplastic striping and roadway signage _ Construction of a concrete island and setup of traffic message boards _ Paving section includes: o 12" graded aggregate base o 6" 25MM binder o 2" 19MM intermediate layer o 1.25" 9.5MM surface layer with lime o Mill and overlay of existing SR 16 tie-in areas _ Temporary striping and final thermoplastic striping _ Traffic control including signage, message boards, and maintenance of traffic _ Saw cutting and installation of storm drainage infrastructure associated with the entrance _ All work to be completed per GDOT and Putnam County standards. Surety companies executing Bonds must be authorized by the Insurance Commissioner to transact businesses in the State of Georgia and appear on the US Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570, as amended) as approved Bond Sureties. Except as provided in OCGA Section 36-91-43, no submitted bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. All bidders submitting bids over $2,000,000 must be prequalified with the Georgia Department of Transportation. Bidders submitting bids $2,000,000 or less must be either prequalified or registered subcontractors with GDOT. Responses will be issued via addendum as necessary. The Putnam County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities and informalities, and to award the contract in the best interest of the Board.
