No definite date for the rebid.** Reference Number 0000389372 Pump Station W-2 (also known as Pump Station No. 2) is located at the intersection of 75th Street and Dickens Avenue, at the 75th Street utility yard, and distributes water to the system from the two (2) tanks located in the facility. As indicated in the City's Renewal and Replacement Report (R&R) 1 and the Water System Master Plan 2, the rehabilitation of the W-2 booster pump station is a high-priority project. The pump station includes an above-grade pump building that houses three (3) Booster pumps and a pressure control valve. The electrical service to the pumps is provided from a separate above-grade electrical building (located at the same site) that houses the electrical gear and a diesel emergency generator. The electrical service and emergency generator are shared with the Wastewater Pump Station No. 23, located in the same utility yard. The scope of services in this rehabilitation work is described below: o Replacement and relocation of the cast iron process piping. The discharge header shall be relocated to a more accessible location within of the pump station building or south of the pump station building o Replacement of the pumps' suction header and lines o Replacement of the intake isolation valves located within the pump station o Replacement in-kind of water pumps and motors o Installation of a new intake/discharge water main up to the pump station property line. The new water main must include a stub out for future redundancy o Replacement of the intake/discharge piping and associated valves at the northeast corner of the site, outside the pump station building o Partial demolition of the first floor of the pump station building to replace the existing process pipeline (suction header) o Installation of a temporary skid-mounted by-pass pump for the replacement of the process piping The additional hardening and resiliency upgrades to be completed for the pump station W-2 building, the electrical, and the generator rooms under this project include the following o Flood protection of the openings of the pump station building o Flood protection of the openings of the electrical and generator rooms o Impact and wind protection of the openings of the pump station building o Impact and wind protection of the openings of the electrical and generator rooms o In-kind replacement of on-site generator set o Upgrades of the pump station ventilation system to ensure compliance with the current Florida Building Code o Installation of a new trolley system to improve accessibility to critical equipment within the pump station building o Upgrades to the electrical room air conditioning system Moreover, the City has been awarded a grant through the Rebuild Florida Critical Facility Hardening Program (RFCGFP) to implement hardening measures to pump station W-2. The RFCGFP is a program administered by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) and funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-MIT). The program assists local governments and state agencies to harden critical buildings that serve a public safety purpose for local communities, and it is designed to enable these critical facilities to better withstand the effects of hazard risks (flooding, severe storms, tropical cyclones, coastal erosion, wildfires).
