For the following contracts: Roadway Seal Coat Contract: Furnish and place approximately 14,178 SY of asphalt seal coat double application and 14,178 SY of asphalt fog seal. Contractors that wish to drop off bids can do so in the green mailbox on the front side of the township building at 4635 State Rte. 44, Jersey Shore, PA 17740. Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the Municipality. Performance bond and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract, as well as proof of worker's compensation insurance will be required from the lowest responsible bidder for each contract. All work and material must meet current Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Specifications Form 408 and its Supplements. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. ASPHALT SEAL COAT DESCRIPTION - This work is the application of Asphalt material, immediately followed by application of coarse aggregate. Furnish and place two applications of Asphalt material, CRS-2PM emulsified asphalt, immediately followed by an application of coarse aggregate of #8 stone for each lift, to be rolled according to pub 408 section 470.3c. Coarse Aggregate. Type A, No. 8, or on roadways with less than 1,000 ADT No. 89, Section 703.2 or a gradation listed in Table A and with the SRL designated in the Contract Item. Supply aggregate from a source listed in Bulletin 14. The Contractor may use an aggregate or blends of aggregates with an SRL equal to or better than that specified. Blends are 50% by weight of the two aggregates. Mix the aggregates using an approved method. ASPHALT FOG SEAL FOR ASPHALT SEAL COATS DESCRIPTION--This work is the treatment of a Asphalt seal coat with an application of Asphalt material and an application of fine aggregate.
