Renovation of a municipal facility in Hartford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
**As of August 18th, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Complete demolition of existing AHU-3 and selective demolition of associated MEP services as required to prepare for installation of new air handling unit and fan coil units. Provide (1) new air handling unit and (2) ducted supplemental-cooling fan coil units serving the Jury Assembly Space. Provide (1) new chilled water booter pump, hot and chilled water piping and insulation, hydronic specialties, temperature controls, ductwork, sound attenuator, supports, etc. for a complete installation. New temperature controls to interface with existing DDC system. Provide new electrical power, lighting, and special systems, sprinkler head/branch piping modifications, etc. to support the AHU installation. Testing and balancing of new and existing systems serving the fourth floor. Refer to the Contract Drawing package (drawings and specifications) entitled AHU-3 Replacement Project, as prepared by Salas O'Brien for more specific information and details on the project. AHU-3 provides heating, cooling and ventilation to the Jury Assembly and support spaces on the fourth floor - temporary or permanent heating/cooling/ventilation provisions must be provided during occupancy and throughout the construction period. Construction shall be performed solely on nights, weekends and holidays as not to disrupt occupants and court processes. Contractor shall define all work requirements in the sequence pan, project construction schedule, work sequence, and schedule of valves, and shall carry all costs necessary for temporary MEP provisions, shutdowns, testing & balancing, etc. as required to support the project scope of work and demonstrate compliance with the project requirements. Fire alarm and sprinkler systems must be protected and remain active throughout construction. Due to the project restrictions outlined herein, the Contractor shall have all materials inventoried, on-site and prefabricated to the extent possible prior to taking AHU-3 off line to minimize shutdown period.
