The project includes furnishing all labor, material, and equipment for milling and resurfacing of twenty-eight (28) streets of various lengths and section of roadway. All bidders must be prequalified with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). Davis-Bacon wage rates and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals DO NOT apply to this project. No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check or acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid made payable to the City of Kennesaw. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Contract Performance Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a Payment Bond equal to one hundred ten percent (110%) of the contract price, with the terms and surety to be approved by the City of Kennesaw; and furnish satisfactory proof of carriage of the insurance required. It is agreed the unit quantities shown in the Specifications are approximate only and the bid is based on a lump sum price. The contract sum will only increase or decrease by a change in the project scope and by change order approved by the City of Kennesaw. It is further understood and agreed upon the unit prices entered on Unit Price Sheet shall apply to any increase or decrease in quantities caused by a change in project scope. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within one hundred twenty (120) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The successful bidder will be notified by the City of acceptance of the bid. The successful bidder must submit an executed contract and Certificate of Insurance before a Notice to Proceed can be issued. Upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed, the successful bidder shall begin work with the adequate force and equipment on the date specified. This project must be completed by December 2, 2025. Payment will be made to the contractor each calendar month based on the estimated work completed and in place as described by the standard specifications. Final payment of amounts withheld or deposited in escrow will not be made until the State Highway Engineer and the City of Kennesaw have certified the work has been satisfactorily completed and accepted. The City of Kennesaw reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and to re-advertise. The City of Kennesaw also reserves the right to reject bids which are non-confirming or to reopen the bidding if all bids are in excess of funds available for the project. Question Deadline 07/04/2025 Any request for such interpretation should be in writing, via email, to the City Clerk. Each such interpretation shall be given in writing, separately numbered and dated and furnished to each interested bidder at least three (3) days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays, prior to the bid opening date.
